Society underestimated HUMSS (and even the students under it) for far too long. They don't see the need for humanities and social science courses in the "real" world because for them, the real world is a world of math and science. People have always thought that taking HUMSS is as same as applying for a low paying job. It's as if the future of HUMSS student is a predetermined life of normalcy.
